1. THEORY
Dive in! MySSI is the best scuba diving app to learn to scuba dive. Before you arrive in Carraroe, complete 6 chapters online and learn all the basic principles of scuba diving. How to use the equipment, safety rules and what to do in an emergency, gaining all the necessary knowledge to become a safe diver.
2. CONFINED WATER TRAINING DIVES
During your 6 confined water dives your instructor will guide you through the basics of setting up equipment, breathing underwater and resolving problems. You will complete these dives in Trá an Dóilín surrounded by the marine life, your adventure begins!
3. OPEN WATER TRAINING DIVES
Let’s go for 4 open water dives and start exploring Ireland’s stunning ocean! In these dives, you will repeat some of the skills you learnt in your confined training, develop your buoyancy control, and start exploring the wonders of the underwater world!
Key Information about the SSI Open Water Course
This is a beginner scuba diving course and includes theory, 6 confined water dives and 4 open water dives. After you complete your open water course you will be able to dive to 18 metres with a qualified dive buddy. You will receive a open water digital certification card which is valid worldwide and for life – giving you a ticket to an awesome underwater adventure!
Our experienced team of Instructors teach the open water course in small groups. Ensuring that you progress at your own pace, receiving a lot of attention from your instructor so that you can relax throughout your training. Allowing you time to build your confidence, increase your dive skills and becoming a safe and competent open water diver!
COURSE DURATION:
4 days 9am – 4pm
MINIMUM AGE:
From 10 years old you can complete the SSI Open Water Course, however we recommend 12 or to complete a Try Scuba for younger kids first.
MEDICAL:
Good general health, there will be a medical disclaimer on your SSI portal you will need to fill out prior to starting your scuba training. Certain medical conditions may require you to be signed off by a doctor to dive.
