1. THEORY
Dive in! No matter which agency you originally certified with, you can complete the Scuba Skills Update with SSI. The theory is completed with the SSI app and you can complete it all online before you arrive in Galway. Refresh your knowledge on how to use the equipment, safety rules and what to do in an emergency. By the end of the refresher program you will feel like a safe diver again!
2. SKILLS DIVE
When you arrive at the dive centre, your SSI instructor will take you through setting up the equipment, give you a thorough briefing explaining what you will be doing during your Scuba Skills Update. Then they will take you for a skills dive in confined water in Trá an Dóilín. During this dive you will refresh the basic skills including mask clearing, out of air situations and buoyancy control. After you have completed the skills we will go for a shallow dive to a maximum depth of 10 metres, allowing you time to practice your buoyancy control so that you feel comfortable during the rest of your fun dives.
We do the Scuba Skills Update refresher course in Trá an Dóilín, you are surrounded by the fish while you practice your skills and as soon as you are finished we can go off and explore our dive sites!

Good general health, if you can answer no to all the points on this medical that’s perfect! If you can answer a yes on page 1 you will need to complete page 2 and 3 as well.

Refresh your skills in a small group so that you can develop excellent diving skills and maximising your fun in a friendly and safe environment.
